Carriers & labels

DHL

Capabilities
Validate credentials, create shipping labels, create return labels, automatic tracking status

Other carriers

Capabilities
Store tracking numbers manually; tracking is uploaded to the marketplace the same way
  • Each parcel gets its own tracking number; split shipments produce one label per parcel.
  • Labels download as PDF; tracking numbers can be copied or opened directly on the carrier's tracking page.
  • Filter the shipping list by status or carrier, or search by tracking number.

Connecting DHL

  1. 1

    Add the carrier

Integrations → Add → DHL. Only Owner and Admin can add carriers.

  2. 2

    Enter credentials

Enter your DHL business customer credentials. They are validated immediately — a failed check tells you straight away, before any label is created.

  3. 3

    Done

Credentials are stored encrypted and never shown again, not even to Owners. Re-enter them only when you change them on the DHL side.

Note

If labels suddenly fail with an authentication error, re-validate the carrier: the most common cause is a changed DHL password.

Shipping flow

  1. 1

    Pick first

Only completed pick lists appear in the shipping queue.

  2. 2

    Create the label

Choose carrier and service, print the label and attach it to the parcel.

  3. 3

    Upload tracking

Tracking is pushed to the marketplace immediately and retried on failure. The order moves to shipped and reservations convert to consumption.

Automatic tracking status

DHL parcels report back on their own: CrowPrime periodically reads the full DHL tracking history for every open label and maps it to a simple label status. No manual refresh, no copy-pasting tracking numbers to check where a parcel is.

created

Meaning
Label exists but DHL has not announced the parcel yet.

printed

Meaning
Label printed and handed to the shipping flow.

shipped

Meaning
Parcel picked up, in transit, at a facility or out for delivery.

delivered

Meaning
DHL confirms delivery. A delivered parcel never moves back.

cancelled

Meaning
Label voided before handover.

error

Meaning
Something needs attention: a failed sync or a DHL exception. Read the status description and act on it.
  • Each label shows the latest DHL status description with its timestamp, so support can answer where-is-my-parcel questions from CrowPrime.
  • Exceptions (failed delivery, damage, return to sender) surface on the label instead of failing silently.
  • Return labels track the same way: the return timeline updates as DHL moves the parcel back to you.
  • Rate limits and unknown events are handled in the background; they never overwrite a newer status with an older one.

Command center

  • Kanban columns follow the order lifecycle from paid to shipped, with drag-and-drop between stages.
  • The map view highlights where unshipped volume is building up.
  • Cards link straight to the order, its pick list and its shipping label.
  • Access follows the orders permission: all roles can view, edits need Supervisor or above.
